It’s often a matter of getting to know the styler and finding the products and techniques that work for your hair. Fortunately, it’s easy to fix – and 96% of our customers quickly figure it out and end up loving the styler.
Here are our best tips for curls that last all day :
Start with “grip”
Use a heat-protecting product that also provides hold – such as a mousse or texturizing spray. This will help your hair hold its shape better.
Hair should be 80% dry
Curls are less likely to set on wet hair. Make sure your hair is 80% dry before you start.
Take small tufts at a time
The less hair you style at a time, the more defined and durable the curl will be.
Keep the curl in shape
When you release the curl from the styler, let it cool in your hand – or roll it up and secure it with a bobby pin for a few minutes. This helps the hair “remember” its shape. Also use the cool button, which sets the hair with cold air.
Finish with a light hairspray.
Once all the curls are done, use a flexible hairspray or a texturizing spray to “lock” the look without making the hair stiff.
Avoid oils or heavy products before styling
They can make your hair too smooth – save them for the ends after styling if you want to add shine.When you follow these steps, you will find that the curls last much better – and styling will be both easier and more fun.
