Start with “grip”
Use a heat-protective product that also provides hold - for example, a mousse or a texturizing spray. This helps the hair hold its shape better.

Your hair should be 80% dry
Curls set less effectively in wet hair. Make sure your hair is 80% dry before you begin.

Work with small sections at a time
The less hair you style at a time, the more defined and long-lasting the curl will be.

Keep the curl in shape
When you release the curl from the styler, let it cool in your hand - or roll it up and secure it with a hair clip for a few minutes. This helps the hair “remember” the shape. Also use the cool button, which sets the hair with cool air.

Finish with a light hairspray
