Use a heat protectant that also provides hold, such as a mousse or a texture spray. It helps your hair maintain its shape better.2. Hair should be 80% dry
Curls don’t set well on wet hair. Make sure your hair is about 80% dry before you start styling.3. Style small sections at a time
The smaller the section, the more defined and long-lasting the curl will be.4. Let curls cool in shape
After releasing the curl from the styler, let it cool in your hand — or roll it up and pin it with a clip for a few minutes. This helps the hair “remember” the shape. You can also use the cool shot button to set the curl with cold air.5. Finish with a light hairspray
